Steamfitters are craftsmen who install piping systems to carry water, steam, compressed air, gases and fluids needed for processing, manufacturing, heating and cooling. They install boilers, pumps, turbines, tanks, water treatment systems and other equipment. Steamfitters work with a wide variety of materials in many environments, because of this they must be able to adapt to their work and surroundings. Steamfitters work with both high and low pressure pipes, mainly in industrial and commercial applications.
